Journey and Discovery

The day starts with a Journey through the classrooms to get a feel for the Montessori prepared educational environment. Parents will then split into the classroom/s of their choice to discover the curriculum through hands on learning and an opportunity to talk with teachers at all levels about what happens in the classroom each day. 

This seminar is only for persons 18 years of age and older and there will be no on-site childcare available during the event. The larger group discussions before and after the Journey and Discovery components will take place outdoors and social distanced for families from different households. Adults will be screened prior to entering the event. All adults must wear masks at all times. We will have sanitizing stations for you to sanitize before and after entering each environment and will break up groups into smaller cohorts when in the discovery portion of the event to limit occupancy in each room. Parents will also be asked to wear shoe coverings when entering the classroom to keep unnecessary germs and dirt out of the classrooms consistent with our teacher and student shoe policy.

We are excited to be able to offer this experience to our parents and others who are interested in discovering new educational options for their child. By experiencing what your child does each day, and what work he or she will do at the next level, you’ll get a full understanding of the value of a Montessori education and whether this is the right educational choice for your child.
