It is my pleasure to serve as the Director and Head of School of the Montessori Academy of Upland. Having attended a Montessori school myself as a child, I entered this field to give the next generation a truly unique approach to learning and found an opportunity here in Upland where no Montessori school existed at the time. This tried and true method, that is now over 100 years old, is just as relevant today as it was back when Dr. Maria Montessori introduced it to the world. The hands on learning with manipulatives that Montessori is known for gives the child a multi-sensory learning experience. The child has the ability in the classroom to take as much, or as little time needed to learn each new skill or concept. This approach ensures that the child does not miss any foundation pieces of information before going on to the next lesson. With our well trained and experienced staff, you can expect all the best that Montessori can offer your child here at MAU. Our goal is not to impart knowledge but to teach the child how to learn for him or herself and to develop a life-long love of learning.
